Visitors to The Niagara Pumphouse will also be able to tour the heritage brick building. It is the oldest surviving pump house in Niagara Region. The abandoned water pumping station (circa 1891) was purchased by the Town of Niagara on the Lake and through community effort and fundraising, the building was restored and converted to become the unique Niagara Pumphouse Arts Centre. The original pump, which once supplied water to the Town of Niagara on the Lake, remains on display in a garden.
